Sono Screening
Screening for ultimate breast cancer prevention.
Using a computer guided ultrasound, Sono Screening complements annual mammograms
and thermograms by examining breast tissue to ensure early detection and prevention
of breast cancer. Not a replacement for an annual mammography, it serves as an information
tool for doctors.
Why use SonoScreening?
SonoScreening helps find cancers that mammograms may miss, because it produces 2000
to 5000 images of the breast. While mammograms look through the entire breast via
x-ray energy, SonoScreening provides visual images of breasts from all angles. This
allows doctors to see abnormal cells that may be obscured by tissues above or below
it.
Who is a candidate for SonoScreening?
Research is currently under way to determine the most viable candidates for SonoScreening.
Currently, SonoScreening is investigational, and is best utilized for women at high
risk of breast cancer or those who have difficulties getting an accurate mammogram.
SonoScreening is not recommended for women with breasts larger than a ‘D’ cup, with
a chest circumference greater than 40 inches, or for women whose breasts are mostly
fatty tissue.
Whole Body Ultrasound
Through ultrasound, we examine and evaluate body functions and abnormalities including
breast abnormalities detected by mammograms, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding or other
menstrual problems, organ malfunction, vascular problems and thyroid disorder.
How can a diagnostic ultrasound help you?
Dr. Stryker uses ultrasound as a diagnostic tool that provides assurance and information
so she can craft the right treatment plan for you.
Ultrasound can also help determine the causes of pain or abnormal bleeding. It is
a very effective tool for evaluating kidneys, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen
and abdominal cavity.
